The latest generation of hybrid supercapacitors can store a comparable amount of energy as commer- cially available rechargeable batteries, which means they can replace batteries. The technology used today for charging supercapacitors takes about the same time to charge as batteries because it uses a comparable process. We have developed a patented technology that charges many times faster, which makes supercapacitors much more attractive and can help them break through. With today's charging technology, super-capacitors are only used in niche areas where long charging times are insignificant and can be accepted.

Supercapacitors can deliver much higher currents than batteries, which is why with the technology of SwissCapTech they are also interesting as an environmentally friendly alternative to internal combustion engines. Today, many devices cannot be operated with batteries as an energy source because batteries are designed for even loads and cannot deliver power peaks.

With SwissCapTech, electrically operated devices are as powerful as internal combustion engines and can be charged just as quickly as refuelling with fuel.
